The Kerenzerberg Sports Center (SZK), a central sports and training center of the Canton of Zurich, has made the leap from a 2-PC solution to a fully integrated corporate IT system. The holistic solution from Dinotronic - a package of Managed Digital Workplace, Managed Datacenter and Managed Collaboration Services - now forms the digital backbone for over a dozen workstations, digital cash register systems and the entire building automation system. The result: maximum flexibility, greater efficiency and the security of a professionally managed IT partner.
The Kerenzerberg sports center can look back on a history of over 50 years and is a mainstay in the promotion of youth and popular sports in the canton of Zurich. However, while the sports infrastructure is state-of-the-art, the IT infrastructure was "amateurishly operated" for a long time - consisting of just two PCs and one server.
The challenge was a 180-degree turnaround: A professional, scalable and secure IT platform was needed. This not only had to grow from two to over a dozen workstations, but also seamlessly integrate complex, business-critical systems such as digital cash register solutions and the control of building automation (heating, ventilation).
Dinotronic analyzed the requirements and implemented a holistic managed services strategy that is perfectly tailored to the needs of the sports center:
An important milestone was the connection to the fiber optic network in 2016, which laid the technological foundation for the successful integration of these comprehensive managed services.
The decision to choose Dinotronic was a conscious decision for a genuine partnership. Marco Bücken, Deputy Operations Manager at SZK, emphasizes: "The partnership between people, the expertise, [and that they are] innovative" were the decisive reasons. The sports center was looking for a service provider that they could rely on 100%.
The implementation process reflected this: "Analysis made, strategy agreed, implementation solution presented, go-ahead given and then implemented".
The change is noticeable throughout the center. IT is no longer an obstacle, but has become a real driver for efficiency and modernization. Employees are benefiting from a completely new way of working: They are now much more mobile, flexible and digital than ever before. This newfound agility is underpinned by Managed Collaboration Services, which have revolutionized networked teamwork. A positive and sustainable side effect of this digital collaboration is that significantly less paper is printed. The high level of satisfaction with the implemented solution is also reflected in the evaluation of the Managed Workplace Service, which received the highest rating (5 out of 5 hearts) from the customer.
"As a customer, we can sleep soundly because Dinotronic is taking care of our IT as a partner and we don't have to worry about anything."
Marco Bücken, Deputy Operations Manager, Kerenzerberg Sports Center
