Initial situation
The European League Against Rheumatism - EULAR for short - is the European umbrella organization of all scientific societies, patient organizations and healthcare professionals in the field of rheumatology. For more than 70 years now, they have been pursuing the goal of improving the diagnosis and treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases and reducing the burden of rheumatic diseases on people. They are closely networked globally and formulate globally recognized recommendations for patient care.
The outdated on-premise IT infrastructure was an increasing headache for the long-established company. With Windows 7 and outdated tools such as Lotus Notes, it was simply no longer possible to meet modern challenges. Modern solutions had to be found for its more than 40 IT applications.In addition, maintaining their own servers was costly and the time and energy required was extremely high.
